Admitted to hospital today with possibly serious medical mystery (no respiratory symptoms) & the doctor orders full virus swabs, including Covid. Will be impressed if they get them back within 24hrs. Ofc, sadly, am almost only one masking & in highly risky environment.

Dear @wesstreeting @GwynneMP Please can you expedite MHRA authorisation for the updated NOVAVAX Covid JN.1 vaccine. Some people cannot tolerate mRNA vaccines & this is the best alternative option. The European Commission & FDA (US) have authorised it. Why the delay in the UK?

I'm a physician with #LongCovid. Here's two cents. Please go to the dentist. The risk of missing an oral infection/cancer outweighs most anything else. If you haven't seen endocarditis, or jaw necrosis, much less catastrophic facial pain from tooth decay, don't argue with me.

Hi Anne Marie. You were actually brilliant. The point of this morning was hearing from many people on the issues they want on the news. We, perhaps wrongly felt you hade made you point about transmission and the inquiry coverage- and I said in our meeting that when we next cover Covid we must get you on for longer as a main guest. It was such a busy phone that we had to extend it by an hour. I hope you’ll still consider coming on for longer.

@BBCBreakfast My daughter has long covid, there are no treatments, there are no treatment trials being funded. My son is ignoring COVID because of the 'it's just a cold' narrative you promote, if all the experts are correct, he will most likely also develop LC. I am powerless to help either.

@LadyChuan What do you do with someone you love? a) keep trying to get through, knowing this will alienate you & cost the relationship b) stop as that's the only way to retain the relationship, knowing they will lose their health one day -(a) above is also very hard on your mental health

Back in Summer of 2020, an associate of mine, 9 year-old son was rushed to the hospital after not being able to talk and crawling on the floor like a baby. The whole family had been sick with “a virus” for almost 2 weeks but never tested for Covid because they “had only been around close friends and family.” (Both parents are educators on the collegiate level). The hospital never tested the son for Covid because the doctors there said “Children don’t get Covid.” I was contacted by a mutual friend, and provided some information on Covid-related illnesses in children which included substantial information on Encephalitis. As weeks passed, and the hospital that was “convenient to the house” could not find a root cause of this sudden brain regression, friends of this associate convinced her that the son may be attention-seeking because she was leaving town for an event. This was more logical to both “professor parents” than pages of studies of Covid related illnesses. A psychologist performed an assessment on the child and determined that the child exhibited “ a progressive neurological disorder of an undetermined nature.” No one was supposed to know of the condition of the son except his grandparents and two close friends…one of the friends, is ALSO my friend (Covid Response Ream) who reached out to me. So throughout this time I kept providing information on Covid-infected children and Encephalitis. There were already 2 active cases at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) at the time…but according to my associate, the hospital is at least 45 minutes from her house and she wouldn’t be able to go home each evening. Therefore all Covid related information was conveniently discarded. 2+ months later, the child had a sudden improvement and within 72 hours was released from the hospital without explanation of what caused his nearly 3 month stay. One of the doctors even said “strange things happen to kids.” Two weeks later, he was back in the hospital…and this time he had regressed even further. He was now mimicking the sounds and movements of an infant. I sent more information…which was ignored…. UNTIL a month later the hospital had a breakout of Covid and retired or last year medical students were called in to help with the patient load. One of the retired physicians who came in to help immediately got him transferred to CHOP and he was diagnosed with Encephalitis almost 5 months after his initial symptoms…but it was too late. He is now permanently brain damaged and although he has had regained some of his skills, he now presents as 3-4 year old but he is a 13 year-old teenager. It’s gut wrenching to see what is happening with kids and knowing that the people who are supposed to protect them the most, are choosing not to. Many people on social media continue to think that the majority of people walk around unaware of the critical nature of Covid, and only if we can get them on some Spaces, or give them clinical studies, or have a good talk with them, or if something happens to them or the people they cared about they would understand and make changes. They had 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024…Long Story SHORT…It doesn’t happen. The motivation to protect has to be greater than the ease to neglect. It is not. This associate and her family discarded their Masks in the summer of 2020, and never took any precautions thereafter. Our common friend whose sons are the same age, don’t Mask and they see the 13 year- old every week. Friends, it’s hard to admit, but we are in the “Save Yourself” part of the nightmare. It’s very hard to separate from those we once knew, and even harder to be around them knowing what we do. This pandemic not only calls for us to protect our body, but it calls for us to protect our inner peace as well. I provide information to loved ones when asked…and walk away knowing that over these last years…I really did my best…and so did you!

@embournemouth @1goodtern It's all in the subtleties, people who had COVID during the pandemic have in some cases had heart complications (because studies) ..... allows maintenance of position that COVID is not a danger now. All very carefully done. Everyone can find at least one lie they like.

@SafeInside2024 @ninabrad5678 I thought I was managing this, getting the first appointment, Until I discovered the dental practice were giving me the second appointment. They reserved the first one to convenience private patients but told me I had the first appt.

I live in N Ireland. I cannot find a dentist willing to wear a mask or open a window. I’m willing to travel. If anyone knows of a dentist who is Covid careful, please Let me know.
