@turbobist28_ Maya and Godot serve such radically different roles in the narrative; I don't understand this comparison. I imagine people like Maya for completely different reasons people like Godot, so why should we expect Godot fans to necessarily like Maya as well?

If he just wanted to let Signora have whatever she wants, why even do that? And was he just pretending to be hurt, or did Signora actually get a good hit on him?

Venti isn't the type to resort to violence when he's really good at talking but Signora didn't negotiate with him

The scene very clearly shows Venti trying to fight back and being overpowered. There is no indication that Venti is concerned about collateral damage anywhere in the scene, Signora just beats him.

@MtR3d_ @SofaGon22211840 That's not what happens in the scene though. What happens in the scene is Venti tries to fight back, then is overpowered and stopped. Why would they portray the scene that way if they wanted to show that Venti is holding back because he's worried about Mondstadt.

The amount of AOE attacks signora's boss fight does, especially her Witch form + ventis wind would literally just fan the flames and spread it to city.

@ByakkoWind @SofaGon22211840 Well, no one else was around at the time, so he could've easily done one quick attack if he wanted. But regardless, why would he pretend to fight back if he really had no intention of putting up a meaningful resistance. He could've just asked what she wanted and given it to her.

Venti on the other hand is a simple bard, and Signora just wanted the gnosis, so why bother to fight back?

He went to go heal under his tree after Barbara was unable to heal him, and she didn't get why. If Venti wanted to ragebait Signora, he could've done that without letting her get a huge W over him.

There is 0 indication that Venti was pretending and having fun during the Signora scene, where his friend the traveler gets restrained and assaulted.

My point is that Neuvillette didn't have those concerns cause he could easily overpower Childe. If Venti could easily overpower Signora, why didn't he?

@SofaGon22211840 @ByakkoWind Well, can you provide evidence that shows that anemo is somehow harder to control than every other element. Because I don't get that impression, we see Venti and others use anemo powers several times and they never seem to struggle controlling it.

Like a negotiation between Venti and Signora where Venti gets ready to fight back, but Signora points out it could cause damage, so Venti relents and gives her the gnosis. Instead we just see her kick his ass.

@timetochiillout @SofaGon22211840 I imagine Neuvillette is at about the same power level as most archons, so I think it's a fair comparison. The scene doesn't show Venti being worried about causing damage, it just shows Signora overpowering him with no hint that Venti feels the need to hold back.

He would destroy his facade as a simple bard 2. The fight would have damage the city. Also, he didn't care about the gnosis, Neuvi said it was like a curse.

@timetochiillout @SofaGon22211840 I think him being restrained, grabbed and toyed with, having the gnosis forcibly ripped out of him, being kicked and then groaning in pain on the floor before what looks like passing out is him struggling, yes. We can all watch the cutscene, it's pretty clear.

Instead they show him struggling and being overpowered with no hint that he's holding back at all. Was that all an act for fun?

Your examples are between two nearly equally matched fighters, and if Venti is as powerful as implied, that wouldn't be the case here. Venti should've been able to incapacitate Signora without much trouble if he's that strong.

@SofaGon22211840 It's just a silly retcon. I guess Venti was just pretending to struggle and sat by as the Fatui assaulted him and the traveler for fun, or something. I don't believe that Venti wouldn't be able to just blow them away if he's that strong, it's just a lazy explanation.
