🚨The Quetta-Chaman Phatak terrorist attack reveals three very important chapters in the story of terrorism in Balochistan. These are very cold facts that clearly show where things are heading. The thread you are going to read will be backed by evidence, facts, and statistics, and it is definitely going to give you a very different perspective from what you are normally going to hear over the next five to seven days in the media. Number one: The attack targeted unarmed Pakistanis, women, children, and civilians. Normally, when a terrorist organization starts to establish itself, as BLA tried to establish itself in early 2000s, it goes for high-media-visibility events, and targeting civilian women and children usually creates panic, induces fear in society, and creates visibility. Then, when the terrorist organization becomes strong enough and feels that it can away from a country, it swiftly moves from targeting soft targets to hard military targets so that the local population does not turn against them. In the case of BLA, however, over the last few months they have started targeting civilians more frequently, which clearly shows that the organization needs media visibility because they know they have lost their primary objective, which is to break Pakistan. The terrorist outfit is becoming increasingly invisible and irrelevant, and they need media gimmicks and tactics to regain relevance so that they can recruit more men. They have lost almost 40–50% of their fighters in the last four months. In February 2026, Pakistan’s security forces eradicated almost 216 militants in only 40 hours only. That, in itself, is a record. Number two: They want to deflect attention from the peace process between the US and Iran. This is another angle of a spoiler strategy: when you cannot destroy the peace process, one of the dirtiest things to do is to target the peacemaker or mediator, which in this case is Pakistan. Number three: As BLA (FAH) was a project initiated by Ajit Kumar Doval, the man who single-handedly developed FAH and Fitna al-Khawarij, both of these organizations are now losing their relevance on the ground. It has been 20 years, and not a single inch of Pakistan has been broken away. Nor is there even a single square foot area in Pakistan that is currently a no-go area occupied by terrorists where security forces cannot enter. In counterterrorism discourse, if you create an insurgency or a terrorist outfit and that outfit, despite 20 years of massive funding, expenses, and international support from media houses and lobbying networks globally, has not been able to achieve even an iota of the objectives that Ajit Kumar Doval claimed, then such terrorist projects are categorised is absolute failures‼️. Now, because Ajit Kumar Doval is 84 years old and there has recently been criticism regarding his appointment as NSA, he may eventually leave office without a legacy. BLA and TTP would then become highly expensive projects with virtually zero utility. Therefore, Ajit Kumar Doval also needs high visibility exit strategy. Secondly, India has changed its strategic objective. They know that the goal of separating Balochistan from Pakistan is unachievable. That is primarily why they are targeting regional economic nodes such as Quetta, simply to create a perception that Balochistan is unsafe so that investors avoid investing there. This is likely the minimum they are planning to achieve. Again, this too is likely to fail. The terrorist attack that took place yesterday in Balochistan was painful. The entire country feels that pain. But the truth must also be stated: terrorism in Balochistan is decreasing at a very rapid pace. Such attacks indicate that the enemy is in panic.

🚨 Had a discussion on BLA a few days ago, and I’ll repeat it: much of the narrative around Balochistan is artificial. Terrorism is declining. They cannot break Balochistan away, so they rely on perception manipulation. Deny them the perception, and the insurgency loses ground.
