Tax-free plots, villas, shops & acres of land. Post-retirement govt jobs. On top of that, in the name of “welfare for retired soldiers & martyrs”, they run a massive empire @FaujiF_Official : banks, insurance companies, cement factories, fertilizer plants, steel mills, sugar & textile mills, dairy farms, petrol pumps, marriage halls… even housing societies built on prime land given in the name of ‘shaheeds’. A business started in 1953 with just $1.8 million in charity is now worth $20 billions, while ordinary businesses collapse and the economy dies. Losses? Covered by public budget. Licenses & permits? Handed over without a single question. The rest of the world builds states for the welfare of citizens. In Pakistan, the state exists only for the welfare of the military. For 70 years, the Army has snatched food from the mouths of poor Pakistanis to fill its own belly, while proudly claiming it is the reason you can sleep peacefully at night.
