@cybette @x0nic2 @llelectronics Exactly 👍. When upgrading from the free SailfishX release to the purchasable one, a reinstall/flash shouldn't be necessary.

@x0nic2 @SailfishOSNews @llelectronics iirc, you won't need to reinstall/flash anything. once you've purchased the license, log out of your Jolla account on the phone, reboot and re-login (same account as the one you purchased the license with in Jolla shop). then you should see Android support etc. available to you.

@x0nic2 @cybette @llelectronics You're welcome 😊. Since Whatsapp doesn't allow the usage of unofficial clients (they existed, also for Sailfish) you would need to get #SailfishX for your Xperia 10 with the official Android App Support. There's no other way at the moment.

Yes i using the official supported SFOS License version, on my Sony Xperia X wih SFOS X and full Android Support-(AlienDalvik) with WhatsApp-(Android apk). But i'm searching an alternative way for my Xperia 10 = SFOS free community version with WhatsApp..?

@x0nic2 @cybette @llelectronics If you are using an officially supported version of Sailfish OS with enabled Android App Support from jolla.com/sailfishX/ it's possible to install and use the official Whatsapp release. There are native Sailfish applications for alternative messaging apps like Telegram.

@x0nic2 @cybette @llelectronics Hey, getferdi seems to use web.whatsapp.com which requires to have an official app (for Android or iOS) running somewhere else. Unfortunately it isn't possible to access the service without being logged-in on the Whatsapp app.

Riding on a wave of nostalgia, took out my #Jolla 1s and #JollaC (running various versions of #SailfishOS 2.x), performed factory resets, and updated all of them to the latest #Sailfish3. Took several hours, but they now feel like brand new devices. I miss the smaller screens!
