Siena, Rider, QU don’t have resumes to worry about unless they’re goal is do enough to qualify for the CBI and if that’s the goal the programs need new coaches.

Iona has found good coaches and players and won plenty of titles before Pitino. No reason it can’t happen again. Obviously, other MAAC teams, including Siena, won’t mind this current Gaels team being broken up.

You’re talking about an old outdated NCAAM world where the Portal/Exposure and NIL opportunities didn’t exist. It’s a whole new ballgame now, in 10 years or less the MAAC will be no more. The game has changed, it’s about keeping up with the future.

@MarkSingelais This is how a once good mid Major conference becomes more and more irrelevant. Banking on the top dogs coaches and players leaving? Gimme a break. How about try and recruit and play better instead of being a bottom 100 team like most of them are. I bet Iona is a top 5 MAAC team.

Of course, Kyle Filipowski could go pro this season and be a first-round draft pick. And that means guaranteed money. But like Proctor, a return will allow him to play much more than learn on the bench. And the same weak draft a season from now could vault him a good ten or more spots. There is no wrong decision for Kyle. But he seems to enjoy playing for Duke a lot and as any freshman can improve. It comes down to personal comfort and personal situations for all players considering their future. Kyle took more unnecessary shots from other players than anyone I have seen in my time. It is fair to say he is not afraid of contact and that may allow him to adjust sooner than some at the next level. He has a ways to go, and he has options to consider. And if you do not think he is close to Scheyer... just look at his jersey number.
