I only ever played 2016 of the reboot before playing Dark Ages and now that I’m into chapter 9, imma say it - this joint ain’t clicking. for something that has buzzsaw shields, armored jet engine dragons, and giant doom slayer mechs, this shit is kinda uninteresting. like unsalted chicken. the combat’s also too structured (parry, wait, repeat) and the pacing is off. hell, even the music doesn’t slap. it’s just kinda…there. crazy how tame this game feels while hitting demons with a mace.
