It really feels like there’s a disconnect at World’s Edge, Forgotten Empires, or somewhere, between competitive reality and decision-making. This Siege Tower issue didn’t appear overnight, and yet a ladder rule change + point penalties is the solution right before a major event?

I have huge respect for the passionate people doing the legwork for #AoE2. But I have to ask: why is a major event relying on a temporary Siege Tower ban instead of a proper game patch? Repeated band-aids like this raise real questions about management priorities at World's Edge.

Regarding the #aoe2 betting controversy: I keep hearing “if you don’t like it, don’t watch or support the streamer.” Not exactly. It’s good to speak up. We respect each other in this community, and calling things out when they feel wrong is part of that.

Gambling will take away what makes our scene so unique and welcoming. Gambling is not only an issue on the ethical part, in a scene as small as ours this will hurt the competition a lot. Most of the top 50 players are commiting a ton of times for a low income per hours, the temptation to matchfix might be impossible to resist at some point. And even if no one tries such a thing, the hate towards a player throwing a game will be massive if gambling is seriously involved in our scene. Ethically, it's a No. In practice, it's a No. To preserve one of the friendliest community, it's a No.
