Gosling praising veteran soap actress Deidre Hall and jumping at a set visit is cute PR but highlights how Hollywood A-listers chase nostalgia and easy validation from daytime TV while their big-budget sci-fi projects struggle for genuine audience connection. Real enthusiasm would be showing up unannounced years ago instead of timed promo.

Ryan Gosling made DAYS go viral… meanwhile Peacock is silent. We’ve had Michael B. Jordan win an Oscar, an actor who isn’t ashamed to mention his All My Children days. John Oliver is basically begging soaps for a role. And now Ryan boosting DAYS. The genre is getting real attention. But Peacock? Nothing. No repost, no promo, no attempt whatsoever. What makes it worse is DAYS’ current direction and writing clearly feels like it’s trying to pull in new viewers instead of writing for longtime fans… so what’s the plan exactly?? You’re chasing new audiences with the storytelling, but doing ZERO promotion to actually reach them. Make it make sense. Meanwhile, they’ll hype every reality show they have but leave DAYS to rot with nothing. At this point, it’s clear: DAYS being on Peacock has done nothing for its growth. NBC at least gave it attention before they dumped it. #dool #DAYS #DaysofourLives

Ryan Gosling accepts Deidre Hall’s invitation to visit the set of "Days of Our Lives," calling Hall his “OG acting inspiration.” “This is a very enthusiastic yes to a very cordial invitation. I will be there to thank you in person… It wasn’t Marlon Brando. It wasn’t De Niro. It was you.” “They do not get the love they deserve,” Gosling said of soap actors. “The amount they have to memorize the night before — like 10 pages of dialogue. They get one take, and it’s impossible scenarios.” He added that watching Hall shift between a “normal person” and someone “possessed by the devil” was “an incredible acting class.” variety.com/2026/film/news…
