Greetings. A damp and murky Saturday for Hampshire and its neighbour the Isle of Wight on the other side of the Solent. A few words summarises today mild and wet at times. Top temps between 6C and 9C. Winds S to SW. Becoming windy at times particularly through the Solent.

@SallyKerson Hi Sally, my guess is automated means it is being fitted with a device that notifies Royal Mail bosses when it has letters in the facility. If it doesn’t postmen/women don’t have to bother opening it. Basically a cost-cutting exercise. Best wishes, Andy

@SusanAmble75391 Thanks my husband will talk to someone when he goes to the hospital tomorrow. The doctors we have spoken to have kept us updated, just have no idea why we didn’t learn about her admission for so long.

@SallyKerson That is from NHS .uk. Or speak to person in charge by phone or in person?

1/2 System failure? A doctor phoned my husband at 3am on Sat morning to say his sister was in hospital and gave info about her condition. (Subsequently after a lot of detective work we found she was admitted Thursday evening but had no idea, we live over 2hrs drive away)

@SusanAmble75391 No idea, this is a hospital in the Midlands. I do wonder if the doctor’s strike might have meant they were too busy to let relatives know.

@SallyKerson Do they have a way you can express your concerns? PALS?

@SusanAmble75391 Thanks Susan, not finding out your loved one is in hospital for over 30 hrs is not good enough and then to be told that it is life threatening is a massive shock.
