@capitalist_qol What's left to engage with? "Heh, I'm a moral anti-realist!" I would be too if I were a non-believer. Engaging with that would require you giving your life to Christ as Christian moral realism presupposes the existence of God. Would you like me to share the Gospel with you?

@Salt_Crown I don't accept your premise of an objectively grounded moral truth, which is why "where" is required. Instead of dodging, you could engage, perhaps?

@capitalist_qol You're pivoting from the ontological question, what grounds moral facts, to an epistemic question about how we come to know them. Those are separate issues. Even if every human were mistaken about God's nature, that wouldn't change the grounding of moral truth.

@Salt_Crown You didn't answer the question. This isn't just disagreement; these are sometimes oppositional. Since this includes prophets, who talk directly to God, how does that happen?

@capitalist_qol Yes, humans disagree on things. That has no bearing on what the facts are.

It's certainly not irrelevant; there's no reason to accept this claim when the specific discussion is where these morals come from. The morality of the people worshipping the god of the Christians has changed over many millennia, so it stands to reason that somebody somewhere was wrong. How is that possible?

@capitalist_qol Due to the Euthyphro Dilemma, a Christian has to say the truth value of moral claims are grounded in Him rather than being divine fiat or existing apart from Him. That's their ontology, where they "come from." Asking "How do you know what's in line with His nature" is irrelevant.

@Salt_Crown The discussion is, quite specifically, whether morals come from God or not. That's the OP.

@capitalist_qol How or what we know is an epistemic question and what's being discussed here is moral ontology, the nature of what is. Whether these truth values are revealed to us through scripture, discovered, or not known to us at all changes nothing about their being and grounding.

How do you know what's "in line with his nature"? Nothing I've said thus far implies anything about God other than the ability to make moral declarations. Your screenshot would be directed at the Shredded Denim account from the OP, but I've made no claims regarding God being hypothetically evil, good, or anything in between.

@TizoMcK The "we must kill god" thing is just another common edgy trope that almost always accompanies that one. The corrupted "love" angle of all the archbishops is an interesting thing, but that's what it's showcasing, "love" gone wrong rather than a commentary on Christianity.

@Salt_Crown I don't know where you got "must kill god" from my statement. I consider RZ to be pointing out that all that religious "love" talk is nefarious. But maybe the LN is different than the anime

Currently there's a active hate campaign against Mushoku Tensei Jobless Reincarnation and its community. Every single site on the internet seems to be labeling it "Diddy Media" and spreading lies to drag the series down, while being hypocrites.. youtu.be/x3LujgPCKj4

@TizoMcK I'm up to volume 27 on the Re:Zero LN and have no idea what you're talking about. Of all the isekai I've read, it probably has the least amount of "the church is evil, we need to kill god" stuff. Is it the naming convention of the witch cult that gives you that impression?

@Unemployednibba @ChibiReviews I think MT is magnitudes better than RZ. It's an explain of the human condition Like you, I cannot stand Soyboyru's pathetic nature, and the "unlimited 'undo' button" theme is wasted in RZ That said, RZ is good in how it exposes/💩s on Christianity

@ChibiReviews I've only read the LNs, it was a fun read with a nice message. I liked that it pulled the trigger on the protagonist's romance instead of endlessly teasing it and showcased married life, but wasn't a fan of the idealized depiction of polygamy. Should've just been Sylphie.

HOT TAKE: Mushoku Tensei is a litmus test and your response to it reveals what type of Anime "fan" you really are. Haters will do anything to slander the series because they base their entire opinion on TikTok edits and word of mouth from Covid Anime Tourists

Been a long time since I did a Filter Post. So let’s see how many people block me from this. >I’m a former IDF soldier, and I’m proud of it >Israel has the right to defend itself >You can’t negotiate with terrorists >Terrorist attacks are bad, even when they target people you disagree with >Abortion is not always murder, and yes, I use birth control >This new "peace deal" with Iran is a joke, we are just counting down the days until the next war >Gaza should not exist next to Israel, otherwise we’re just waiting for another October 7 to happen >On our first date, I won’t eat a salad and I’ll probably eat more than you >Israel is an independent country, Trump doesn’t get to decide that striking back is a mistake. I don't care if no one died, normalizing attacks on Israel is completely out of the question >Some people are lonely because they refuse to find a middle ground with a person they like >Supporting your country doesn’t make you an extremist >If I don’t want my partner having highly sexualized anime figures, it doesn’t mean I’m jealous, I just think it’s a cheap substitute for the real thing >You don’t have to agree with everything a creator says to enjoy their content >If the sex is not good, find another partner >There are only 2 genders >I will happily pay $15 for shipping just to avoid driving 10 minutes to the store. >I am the definition of "don't talk to me before I've had my coffee" >Just because something hurts your feelings doesn't mean it's offensive. >Muting people is healthier than arguing with them for 6 hours >Putting pronouns in your bio is basically a self-diagnosis. >If we're hanging out and you spend the whole time taking photos of your food, I'm leaving the restaurant and going to McDonald's instead >Sex is important just like love and respect is. >If your partner hasn't wanted sex in a week, there's a problem and you should be worried. >There is no such thing as nonbinary. >Being offended doesn’t automatically make you right >Most females annoy me >Half the people who want to date me couldn’t stand a day with me >I have zero interest in camping; I pay rent so I can sleep indoors with air conditioning. >Touching grass solves half of internet drama >If we're watching a movie at your house, I'll most likely fall asleep >Most people online are way less brave in person >Nobody can wake me up when I'm asleep, and if they do, I'm blocking them >I don’t like doing whore shaming, but I don’t think there’s something to be proud of when you sell yourself >Being fat is not attractive and can kill you >Blocking someone is not winning an argument >You can’t change a made-up mind about you, even if they’re wrong, stop explaining yourself. >Context matters >Relationship and marriage is like work, if you don’t care about it, you’re gonna lose it >Boundaries are important, and some people don’t understand it >Some people wants help, but don’t help themselves. >I will spend 3 hours customizing a character and 10 minutes playing the game >I hate the beach, I can’t stand the sand getting into my ass >Oversharing on social media is a mistake >Pineapple on pizza is gross >Reading books is my therapy >Blood doesn't mean loyalty, if a family member treats you like shit, cut them off. >A female should not have guy friends, most of them eventually catch feelings or want more >Your husband should be your best friend >Sometimes the harsh truth is exactly what you need to hear I refuse to elaborate further. 😌🍿

@Joshuabible24 Great Video. That 'on average seven years after being part of a church community before actually converting' observation was striking. Complete opposite here, people are quick to profess but getting them to sit in the pews long-term is a challenge.

@mganj79 @chernovlosya Epicurus never said that though. He believed in gods that didn't care about human affairs. It's from a work by a Christian named Lactantius where he was strawmanning Epicurus and dismantled that stupid trilemma in the next few sentences. Hume then reddit popularized it later.
