Get good at these throwing drills. You will use them throughout your career

@DrivelineBB You do realize that you guys created “mound velo days”…where you would tell people to not worry about where the ball goes and only the intent to throw as hard as possible right?

Most pitchers treat velocity and command like two separate qualities but training them in silos may be the very thing holding you back 🤔 Brewer Hendrix breaks down why integrated training is the secret to moving the needle on the mound.

Easy way to increase arm speed? Fix the positioning of the trunk.

Don’t strain yourself thinking you’re going to hit an all time PR in the bullpen. Game velocity is different from bullpen velocity.

Over rotation is a velocity and command killer. Keep the glove inside the width of the body

Posted this on Instagram earlier. I tend to look at early trunk rotation under the lens of is this effective pinning of the leg or not. What were after his transferring energy into the baseball not aesthetics.

So yes, plane of rotation sounds great. But this is why you need to think for yourself if you’re a coach or an athlete and not just blindly agree with what’s ever out there. You only get one career.

The idea of a “plane of rotation” in throwing sounds really smart . But sounding good doesn’t mean it’ll actually help you. Let’s talk about it 👇

If you have any questions about this and want to talk my DMs are open. Injuries can really suck the fun out of baseball and leave you feeling hopeless Don’t sell out on velocity because you just want to throw hard. There is a better way.

Bottom line is that you don’t need to train at 100% effort every day to be ready for 100% game velocity. Be smart and progress slowly towards high-intent work The average velo of a pitcher on the IL is 0 MPH

Is throwing at 100% effort in training really necessary to throw hard and stay healthy? This is something I came across last night when talking to one of my pro pitchers. Let’s look at what the research actually says. 👇
