According to @JeffPassan, the Seattle Mariners are the “Dream Match” for Willson Contreras, if the Red Sox are to move the All-Star 1B at the deadline. He notes that Contreras would be the “most meaningful upgrade” but the Mariners already have a crowded 1B/DH room, so adding Contreras would put pressure on manager Dan Wilson to “navigate playing time and egos”

@jtbourne Most disappointing city I’ve been to. Was really looking forward to it. I found it to be a total dump. Surrounding areas are beautiful but the city itself has major problems. Not that my opinion is relevant. But I do know a number of players I’ve talked with feel the same way.
