@KevinNagleMLS It's just empty words at this point...the only thing you can do to get fans back on side is by getting the results on them pitch. Untill that happens(if that happens) then stay quiet with shit promises and false hopes!
I don’t need to tell any of you, our supporters, that today was absolutely unacceptable…..as we near the end of a season that was incredibly disappointing.
Though I have been advised to wait until after our final match to say this publicly, I’m not big on being “handled”……
I am the Chairman and the blame lies with me ultimately, and I don’t want to wait another second to let you know how disappointed I am.
I am not interested in the blame game.
Blame me.
That’s fine, I’m the one in the big chair.
We have secured the stadium.
We have re-invigorated our Academy at great cost, so that we may reap the benefits in our future.
We just watched our Town Women play the type of football and achieve the type of success I wish our Men’s team emulated.
But wishing vs reality are two different things.
So here it is:
No more flashy promises.
After this statement, no more flashy words.
We, starting with myself, David Threlfall-Sykes, and our staff, will work day and night this offseason to get it right.
In 3 years, I’ve come to know the football you want to see.
And it’s the same football I want to see.
Big, physical, front footed, aggressive, and able to hold leads late in the match.
But MOST IMPORTANTLY, players that play for the badge on the FRONT, not the name on the back.
I have, as you know, spent a ton of money on players the last 3 years, that isn’t the issue.
But going forward:
We will be smart. We will be tactical.
We will bring players in to fit our system, not move the system to fit our players.
There is nothing I can say to you at this point, no magic wand I can wave to make it right. At this point, actions and RESULTS are all that matter.
There are some both within and outside this organization that will be rubbed the wrong way by this statement, and frankly I don’t care.
My responsibility is to YOU, the supporter, to ensure we have done all we can do make your trip home from the Accu Stadium on matchday a pleasant and satisfying journey.
I will be watching, (as will our front office team), next weekend’s match very carefully.
We will see who is playing for the shirt…..and who is ready to go on vacation.
Thank you, and as always your continued support means everything.
We will get there, or we will die trying.
UTT
Kevin
I also firmly believe that Mr
Nagle needs to get people in who know how English football works-he’s got it completely wrong for 3 years now, it could be argued that hes been too bloody stubborn for his own/and our good employing & sticking with people who arent good enough #htafc
@ADandridge@BenHtafc17@KevinNagleMLS Manning's future at the club needs to be decided in the next few week and its entirely up to him. The hope is Drury and Stead are playing how Manning wants to play and that will continue if he does return, if Manning doesnt want to return then decisions will have to be made.
@SamHuddsWilson@BenHtafc17 But if and when Manning comes back is it going to carry on
Think not, Manning coming back is not an option for me
Feel sorry for him and his family but it happened to him at Norwich it’s why he did bad
@KevinNagleMLS has some thinking to do
Just me that’s quietly happy it’s all over?
Underperformed massively yet again this season and I genuinely don’t enjoy watching us. Can’t wait to spend my next two Saturdays without thinking about Huddersfield Town. #htafc
@htfc_tom He brought the physio on cause it looked like a head injury cause he was holding the back of his head. The ref cost us points in the last 2 games but not this one.
i don’t believe that it’s mannings fault. he has barely any players to chose from and he has to keep everyone fresh so they don’t get injured. no point sacking him now. players are god awful. scam a living do them lot. #htafc
@Tropikez1 Because on the pitch the players look like they can't be arsed. There's no effort or passion on show. And the goal is easily preventable if we close him down!
#htafc so convinced half the fanbase just look at the twitter posts. More chances created and its hard to get it on a town players head when Barnsley literally have 11 men in the box. Their goal was one of those you cant stop and it was their first shot on target. Why the fuss?
Somthing at this club is rotten to the core...same problems over multiple coaching teams tells me the problem is either in the dressig room or higher up #htafc
