Forgive me for a long one here: Had a dinner downtown tonight with fam so I'll be back on the show tmrw, but I just wanted to say (I know this isn't Cubs related) what an honor it has been to watch Lionel Messi's Career. I chose him as my favorite player early on because I was a die hard Cubs, Bears, ILL fan and was tired of losing, but I actually lost quite a bit with Leo too. However, the way he fought to achieve his dream, the way he carried himself, and of course, the football was unlike anything I'll ever see again. This version of Argentina was a poor representation of him because they didn't play the game in an attractive manner, but watching him play has brought me more joy than pretty much anything. I wasn't around for Jordan or Ali but he's that guy for me. Class, Humility, and a gift that nobody can TOUCH. We live in a "but" society. Anything to keep debate going, but this debate was closed a long time ago. Thank you, Leo.

Lionel Messi did what he could in this final. He didn't see much of the ball and if anything was more of a defender. At 39 years old, the goals, the assists, the dribbles, the moments he had at thia World Cup, we have never seen.

Hell of a run by Argentina who clearly didn't belong this far talent wise. Spain deserved winners. Messi at 39 for an MLS player had one heck of a run.

I really enjoyed that third place game for what it was (an all star type game) until the announcers just totally blew it out of proportion lol. Thrilla in Mailla, Brady's comeback, one of the all time great world cup games. There was nothing on the line 😂
