Really great showing for the Raptors. Scottie was the best player in the series. CMB is special. Shead and Ja’Kobe rule. Darko’s the right coach.
They’re closer than I thought. Go trade for Kawhi again. If they upgrade on the Ingram spot they can compete for the East next year.

Denver's loss was way more embarrassing than Boston's. It's not close. The Celtics ran into an opponent who got healthy at the wrong time while they played Game 7 without their best player. Denver lost to a team without its top three guards.

You know what? Denver got the injury reprieve and still lost. Boston got three Embiid-less games and still lost.
Detroit got lucky. It's also eight wins away from the Finals and all is forgiven if they get there.

@VaderJaws Based on performance relative to expectation it might be Rick Carlisle TBH. Him or Popovich. Judging Phil is so hard because of the players he had (and also, frankly, because I wasn't deep into evaluating coaching strategy when he was winning).

Scott Skiles was the classic 82-game coach for awhile. Thibs has some of that. Ime. Bickerstaff. I think Mazzulla is better than all of them, but some of the principle applies. Watching guys coach in the regular season tells us so little about the playoffs now.

I feel like the difference between regular-season and playoff coaches has never been bigger. You have these guys who are awesome at developing cultures and structures that get you through 82, but the seven-game chess match is like an entirely different skill set.

In April, Sam Amick reported the Celtics were interested in Giannis. Idk if Boston would ever break up the Jays, but if I were Giannis, that’s where I’d try to go.

I think he's the best regular-season coach in the NBA. I think the playoff stuff is concerning—nowhere near "fire him" concerning, but concerning nonetheless.
He builds these awesome structures than adheres too strictly to them when the playoffs require more adaptability.
