Joining the Annual Council Meeting of the World Customs Organisation in Brussels. The @WCO_OMD and the @WTO are strong partners in making sure the knots and bolts of trade work with respect to Product Classification, Trade Facilitation, and Rules of Origin. Combatting illicit trade and illicit financial flows is another emerging area of great partnership. Thanks to WCO Secretary General Ian Saunders and WCO Council Chair Edward Kieswetter for a great interaction. Also with the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service Mr Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, Director General of Benin Customs Mrs. Adidjatou Hassan Zanouvi and Commissioner of the Namibian Revenue Agency Mr Sam Shivute.

[ICYMI] Dr Nthabiseng Debeila represented the ATAF Women In Tax Network (AWITN) in a panel discussion on bridging gender gaps in public finance during the @UNDP 2025 Dialogue on Public Finance and #SDGs in New York 🇺🇸. Dr Debeila provided an overview of the support for AWITN in bridging gender gaps. Equally, AWITN Gender Champion, Mr @SamSHIVUTE, highlighted the role of a gendered approach to public finance, which requires a transformation agenda from the national level "I am excited about the AWITN Pledge we signed during the 2024 Annual Meetings.
