Something I’ve been pondering these last couple of weeks, especially with these similar Signature event fields - who’s the best player on the PGA Tour without a win? Data Golf has Alex Smalley closely followed by Sam Stevens. Thorbjornsen might shade it for me.

Gotta say, you’d have expected some level of comedown for Alex Fitzpatrick after last week’s win, becoming a PGA Tour member overnight, and being thrust right into the thick of things at Doral. Top-10 in his first event as a PGA Tour member. Pretty damn good 👏

Easy to see Justin Rose’s name near the bottom of the leaderboard and put it all down to the McLarens, but it’s only fair to point out he actually gained strokes on approach both R3 & R4. I’d still question the timing of the change, but a relevant footnote to this week’s showing.

@sam_golf Not been able to watch today but he must be very slow if he got stroked and Otaegui got nothing last week. Shouldn’t matter that Otaegui was in the final group. They need to be consistent If De Leo was genuinely slower that Otaegui then I stand corrected

The DPWT leading the charge on slow play handing De Leo a one stroke penalty in the final round in Turkey. Whilst firmly in contention, no less.

He may end up getting beaten today, but been really impressed by Daniel Rodrigues so far. First time in the final group on the DPWT and he’s not missed a green through eight holes. When many others are forcing it and making mistakes, he looks unflappable.

@Jesters076 It’s not the worst by any means, but it’s quite one dimensional. The course in Turkey has more to it imo, it’s certainly providing a sterner test, and the result is a very bunched leaderboard. Should be a dramatic Sunday.
