Working on an app specifically for making fucked up glitch illustrations: - import images - draw SVG shapes - add stackable effects and reorder them - lots of control over every parameter More to implement before I release it, but I’ve successfully deployed it to prod 🙌

I will never, for the life of me understand why Every Time I Die replaced the original, badass cover of Last Night In Town with something so dull and nondescript of how the record actually sounds.

@markoilico If an experienced designer has poor taste, they probably never had any taste to begin with.

Very unpopular fact in the design industry: Experience is overrated. I've seen so many designers with 2 decades of experience, but very, very poor quality of design and poor taste. At that level, they should be a strong creative director or team leader, but they struggle to keep up with today's level of design. A designer with 4-5 years of experience but with a great work ethic and lots of passion will always beat a seasoned designer with bad taste.

Really great example of how white space elevates and adds implied value to design.

@RawestAlbums Drew Struzan was extremely underpaid for his album cover work and because of it he made the transition to films.

I'm late to this but RIP Drew Struzan, the legend made poster art for dozens of classic 80s movies but I'll bet you didn't know he made these raw mfs too

I always have a difficult time with when pricing my work so that the hours and hours of graphic design goofing around with the project in an obsessive haze actually makes me some money, but inevitably I’ll mess with it until it equals out to charging around $2.00 per hour.

@doronstudio I have found that if you just start working, you sometimes find that what you come up with is even better than what you envisioned. Allow yourself to fall into a state of "play" and just see what happens.

on a similar note, as an artist i really struggle with thinking that i can’t or or won’t do my ideas justice. if im very emotionally attached to the idea i get scared to even attempt trying to convey that, at the chance that it might fall completely short of what i envisioned.
