As many as 1 million people—about one-sixth of Lebanon's population—have been forced to leave their homes during the current Middle East conflict.
We are working alongside churches to bring aid to families who’ve evacuated and are currently living in hotels, makeshift camps, with relatives, or on the streets.
More than 500 families so far have been provided with food baskets. This work has built trust among the displaced, including many Muslims, and has provided opportunities to share the Word of God.

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all…” (1 Timothy 2:1-6)

Just 20 years ago pastors across Sudan and South Sudan were martyred for their faith while their churches burned to the ground.
Those that survived never wavered in preaching the Gospel.

🚨 ❄️ Winter Storm Fern left behind hurricane level damage, but without hurricane level response resources.
We have received 7,000+ requests for help from families whose homes and properties were damaged by the brutal ice storm.
We are so thankful for the 2,300+ volunteers who have made an INCREDIBLE impact helping us serve 2,400+ families, but there are still thousands of work orders left.
‼️ Our greatest need is in New Albany, Mississippi. If you are able, we encourage you to prayerfully consider joining us at this site.

Samaritan's Purse will not close a response site until every single work order is complete, but we need all hands on deck to care for families impacted by this "frozen hurricane."

Sam and Ethel are in their 80s and have devoted their life to loving others and pointing them to Jesus. They serve with such joy, never letting the bitter cold and rain of Louisiana steal their zeal to share the Gospel.
A common sentiment among our staff and volunteers is that we all should strive to be more like Sam and Ethel. Recently, they had the unique opportunity of serving their own family when their grandson's home was damaged in the ice storm.
“Sam and Ethel, they're just amazing! I hope to do what they're doing when I'm that old. They're such a blessing to others,” Rebekah, their grandson’s wife said.
Because of Sam and Ethel, Rebekah was familiar with Samaritan’s Purse before we showed up at her house, but she had never experienced the sacrificial love of volunteers willing to serve while expecting nothing in return.
As the volunteers worked, Rebekah shared her story. She was at work at the local hospital when the storm hit, and her twin girls were at home with her husband. Impassable roads meant Rebekah was separated from her family and ended up staying at the hospital for three days until she could safely get home and take in the destruction.
“Limbs and trees were cracking. A lot of people have said it kind of sounded like a war outside, just unreal sounds,” Rebekah shared.
Her family spent 5 days without water or power.
Like many in this small town, her husband, Ethan, immediately began volunteering to serve others in need his community, even while still in need of assistance himself.
Thanks to Samaritan’s Purse, he didn’t have to worry about that. Rebekah and the girls watched excitedly as volunteers tackled the debris in their backyard, slowly unearthing the swing set and trampoline that had been made inaccessible during the storm.
“Having Samaritan’s Purse here is just a tremendous blessing upon the area,” Rebekah said. “Reach out to them. They’ll show up, they’ll help you, and it’s just amazing.”
Rebekah's faith in the Lord sustained her through the storm and has been her source of assurance and hope in the aftermath.
“It's bad. It's horrible for everybody, but we know that we're going to be provided for. God will take care of us,” Rebekah said.
Getting to build relationships with homeowners is the privilege of our North American Disaster Relief responses and sometimes we find they’re already a part of the family.
Our response in New Albany, MS still has hundreds of families in need of help. We need YOU to join us in serving these families in Jesus' Name!
