At a co-created side event with @rhnkorg , @SASAalliance , @HennetKenya & @NCPD_Kenya during #IMNHC2026, @SamashaUg shared cross-country insights from West and East Africa. The pattern is consistent: Countries are making progress—but health systems are not keeping pace. ✔️ Gains in skilled birth attendance & family planning ❗ Persistent system constraints limiting impact The next frontier is not just progress—it’s resilience. Building systems that deliver for every mother and child, everywhere. #MNH #Accountability #HealthSystems @SASAalliance

Did you know? Africa bears the highest global burden of preventable maternal, newborn, and child deaths. These deaths stem from gaps in healthcare access, workforce shortages, and the effects of conflict and climate crises. The good news? Solutions exist — but we need stronger political will, sustained domestic funding, and accountability to turn commitments into real action. Together, we can ensure every mother and newborn not only survives but thrives. #MaternalHealth #Accountability #DomesticFinancing
