The time was 12:05 Pm We were at Tunaweza Empowerment Organization in a meeting to reflect on the role of the youth in ending FGM. The guys came in through the gate yielding pangas and the people outside ran into the hall. We locked the door and windows of the hall and the guys surrounded the whole building. One came in through the window armed and furious so no one stopped him, he is the one who opened the door for them. They ordered us to sit down and told us they wanted Vinnie. They were compromising one of the already abducted persons to identify the faces that were responsible for the demos. They broke in to the room where Vinny was, bundled him outside and starting beating him with the machetes. A few minutes seconds later they came in for Emmanuel and also rendered him panga beatings. I lost my cool and broke out through the window, jumped over the fence and sprinted towards the police station and there were a few guys pursuing me who retreated once I got to an unreachable distance. I reached the police station safely and informed the deputy OCs who asked me to remain behind as she sent boys out for the rescue of my mates who had already been bundled in the booths of the two proboxes and driven away to an unknown location. It is not safe for most of us as we speak.
