A 58‑year‑old motorcyclist was killed and his 16‑year‑old son seriously injured in a fatal accident near Gintota on the Colombo–Galle main road at around 1.30 pm yesterday (08). According to Police investigations, the bus travelling towards Colombo collided head‑on with the motorcycle while attempting to overtake a car negligently. The teenager, a school student who was riding pillion, is currently receiving treatment at the Galle Emergency Treatment Unit. The victims, father and son, are residents of the Gintota area. The bus driver has been taken into custody, and the Galle Police are conducting further investigations into the incident. (Newswire)

@JDavishka @NewsWireLK Subsidizing the fuel is not actually helping. It costs the government to pay the difference. This expense will drain reserves. If fuel is expensive, it is expensive, there's not really a way to magically make it cheaper unless they find cheaper suppliers.
