I’m an American of Cuban descent, and nothing pisses me off more than walking into a store, getting an Amazon package delivered, or pulling up to a drive‑thru and someone immediately starts speaking to me in Spanish, like we’re not in the United States of America. I don’t care if you’re from Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia, or anywhere else in South America. When you come to this country, you learn to speak English. You make the effort to talk to people in English. That’s called assimilation. It’s not the other way around. Don’t expect everyone else to switch languages for you. That’s not how it works.
