@kirkoglua @OmoiteS God of War is like PlayStation's Halo. Gears, on the other hand, is heavily dependent on cover mechanics and restrictive movement. That's what fans love about it, but it's also what has kept it from appealing to the mainstream.

@SavageSaint012 @chikocash If they were able to attract PC users to Game Pass, I'd be all for it. But sadly, that's not the case. PC gamers love Steam, and they're not ditching it for Game Pass.

@Sammy_Xbox @chikocash Xbox, in my opinion doesn’t have a large enough user base to rely on them to make games successful. The lack of quality games and going multiplatform hurt the console and is why Gamepass hasn’t grown, since most of their subs are Xbox players.

@SavageSaint012 @chikocash They can make games true exclusives if people actually buy them. If they're available day one on Game Pass, why would anyone pay $70? Around 80% of Game Pass users are on console, so you're not attracting many new subscribers—you're just reducing game sales.

@kirkoglua @OmoiteS Halo Combat Evolved Remake isn't a mainline game. They're using it to learn a new engine by remaking an old game. If they released a Halo prequel or continued the main story, that would be considered a mainline title.

@Sammy_Xbox @chikocash Do you think Keeper, South of Midnight or Doom the Dark Ages would have sold well if they weren’t on GP? Forza 5 and 6 still sold well in GP. If they remove Day one they’ll lose probably 50% of GP subs. Do you think the loss of monthly reoccurring revenue would work?

@SavageSaint012 @chikocash It did better than Game Pass because Game Pass came with the multiplatform strategy. After going multiplatform, Xbox ended up with its lowest console sales despite having the best hardware by far.

@SavageSaint012 @chikocash Here's a cleaner version that's about 80 characters shorter while keeping your point: They wouldn't have sold that much, but DOOM and Forza would've. They showed Steam and other platform sales, but not Xbox because it likely didn't even sell 1 million.

@SavageSaint012 @chikocash I'm not against Game Pass. It's great for me. But if Xbox wants to keep it, first-party exclusives shouldn't launch day one on Game Pass. Sell them first to recover costs, then add them after 1.5–2 years. That would maximize sales while keeping Game Pass attractive.

@Sammy_Xbox @chikocash That’s because the games were bad. Gamepass or not, nobody was buying South of Midnight, Kepler, Kiln, Hellblade 2 etc. Doom 3 was hated because it was slower. So Xbox isn’t on this bubble because of Gamepass. It’s because they haven’t had a collection of banger games since 360.
