While in Shire (#Tigray), I saw IDPs including children on the literal verge of death due to lack of food & medicine. I wasn’t able to visit areas occupied by Eritrean forces but am aware their “living” conditions are only worse.

Her younger brother was the one who found her-she had hung herself. It was just the two of them, parentless, navigating the world on their own. I can't begin to comprehend the weight she must have been carrying, or the pain now left behind for him to hold. (3/4)

TW: suicide I keep thinking about this weekend. Saturday, I visited the orphanage we are supporting in MK, #Tigray. The kids were so excited to show me the new home, gratefully explaining why it's better than the last. We sat together, drank coffee, & they sang. (1/4)
