@Samuel_Lipson Gore hurt himself with how he performed in the 2000 debates. That also played a role in Gore being down the polls in September and October. Gore also really wasn’t associated with the scandals of Clinton and the public felt that America was headed in the right direction.

For everyone saying that Gore breaking from Clinton killed his campaign I implore you for the love of God to look at literally any data from the actual 2000 cycle. Gore was on track to get completely destroyed until he started making the break at the DNC in August.

The only way Dems are going to have a hope at responding to a post-Section II world is if they crack D+90 minority-dominated districts to create currently-illegal statewide sweep maps in blue states. As we’ve seen over the past year, this is not something the CBC will like.
