@Manga_Kamen He was never kidnapped. In DMC 3 which is an origin story he hasn't even met Mundus yet. It's not til later that Mundus corners and challenges him and he presumably just lost the fight against Mundus and was turned into Nero Angelo.

@emmywayne64 He wasn't compatible. A small percentage of Benders are compatible with metal bending even the Avatar. Since Korra could already earth bend at 4 she was probably compatible the whole time.

Why didn't Aang learn Metal bending like Korra did? He even had access to the one who invented it.

So yes they should make amends, also wan shi tong wants to protect the spirits. Which is why unalaq gets that support.
