We are so grateful for your support for PEARLS, we now have 362 participants. Recruitment is open until the end of March, but the hospitals involved already have full lists of people who may be eligible. Because of this, the option for people to refer themselves has now closed.

A personal achievement today I did the Loch Ness 5km. In December I had a heart problem, the majority of January was spent horizontal due to very low BPs and high HRs. My confidence doing any type of activity took a hit. Today I smashed a 30min 5km! Run without stopping! 😊

Today is my first day in post as Chief Executive of @NHSGrampian. 2/2 Honestly nurse telling mum to stop moving her arm (near constant dyskinesia), stop pushing herself down the bed (she can't even maintain posture in her armchair) and asking more than once if she's nil by mouth because of her 'feed'...which I'd explicitly advised was duodopa.

1/2 After a couple of frustrating days repeating mum's #Parkinsons needs to healthcare staff, it was refreshing to see her cared for today by an excellent person centred & proactive nurse (who happens to be a full time #carehome nurse) & to have her PD nurse doing a shift on ward
