🐎❤️ Is this wild mare a 'human whisperer'?
Look at this moment: a free-roaming wild mare leans in, mouth to William’s ear — as if sharing ancient wisdom.
Not staged. This comes from 12 years living among the herd as an accepted friend. He returns with “inspirations” straight from the wild Ones.
What they’ve taught: true coexistence, not bureaucratic “management.” We must replace control with respect — for horses and all species.
The ongoing illegal actions against America’s wild horses must stop. No more support for groups pushing sterilization chemicals (PZP & GonaCon).
Critically important: The complex culture & society of wild horses — documented by William, including his article “How Wild Horses Deal with Death and Grief” — reflects millions of years of evolution. These essential societal “memes” drive epigenetic survival. Interfering with their natural family bonds and behaviors spells doom for the species.
We’re in the 11th hour. William works 100 hrs/week unpaid, investing his life savings to protect our local herd of 200 cultural heritage horses.

Did you see this story on Sky News this week?
More than 250 dogs were found crammed into a single property, living in filth. When the image was shared, many people were quick to call it fake. The RSPCA confirmed it was real.
This is what suffering looks like.
But this isn’t where it ends.
Pigs are confined in filthy, overcrowded conditions where they endure the same neglect, fear and distress. We see individuals like them again and again, including in facilities that meet RSPCA ‘welfare’ standards. So why is suffering unacceptable for dogs, yet certified when it comes to pigs used for ‘meat’?
Different species. Same capacity to suffer. Same system that fails them.
We don’t question cruelty when it’s familiar. We justify it.
It’s time to confront the inconsistency.

I feel sorry for you. Your bloodline clearly stopped evolving thousands of years ago in the troglodyte era.
When animals or people or worked to death outside the ‘sport’ there are consequences.
There are many things we did 200 years ago which are not acceptable today (including child slavery).

@alexfmac @PollyWi92611992 What horrifies me is the continued public popularity of this extreme sport that belongs in the history bin. Unlike Australia where jumps racing only continues in one State, Victoria and is on its last legs due to lack of public support.

@Deb_Fleming @susanamet @TasmanianLabor I saw a clip of Dean Winter expressing the view that once greyhound racing is shut down, “they’ll” come after rodeos and horseracing! I have heard the same argument used to keep jumps racing going in Victoria -shut it down and they will come after 2 year old racing next.

#politas @TasmanianLabor claims ending cruel, unpopular, outdated dog racing will cost many millions in compo. TasRacing stats provided to Parliament show only a handful of trainers make even $50k from it. Most record pittances. ‘Industry’ - or state subsidised hobby?

@domdyer70 Imagine how mentally and emotionally depraved you would have to be to consider watching horses being critically injured and killed in front of your eyes is entertainment?

the suffering has already started at Taree NSW this morning. Apologies for posting such heart wrenching images so early but this is what is happening right now. Don't watch if you are feeling a bit fragile or vulnerable.
Some serious questions need answering on what happened to this greyhound.
"Counterpart" is just 2 years old and this was his second ever race. He appears to have either become injured inside the starting box or as he exits. He is clearly suffering and distressed.
The censoring of footage by GRNSW is inconsistent and often makes no sense. This replay is not currently available on the GRNSW website. If it ever does appear these images will likely have been chopped out as if nothing happened.
These familiar and always shocking images provide further important evidence of a pattern of abuse and suffering inflicted on greyhounds in NSW on a daily basis.
These images are further evidence of unsafe NSW tracks and the serious risks faced by greyhounds when running on these tracks. Claims that the Taree track is safe do not match the evidence
GRNSW claims to prioritise animal welfare. These images, and many others like them, do not support those claims.

@BloodHorse @RacingPost The connections NEVER disclose the nature of the injury. Why the secrecy?

Four horses died in four days at Cheltenham.
Next week, the racing industry moves on to Aintree as if nothing has happened.
These are not ‘unfortunate incidents’. They are predictable, repeated, and built into a system that pushes horses beyond their limits for entertainment and profit.
How many more deaths will it take before enough is enough?
Boycott Aintree. Don’t attend. Don’t watch. Don’t bet.
Please share and encourage others to do the same.

@ownersgroupuk It’s not like the owners and trainer didn’t know that horses are dying from competing in jumps racing every week and that jumps racing is so deadly that it guarantees to kill horses? The public are expected to tolerate such atrocities being inflicted on innocent horses?

WE DID IT! ✊
Message from Emma Hurst MP:
"BREAKING: Laws that helped hide animal abuse ABOLISHED.
This has been a long fight in NSW. For years, some of the strictest ag-gag laws in the country meant that even footage of serious crimes, like what happened to Olivia in a piggery in Victoria, couldn't be handed over to the police for investigation. Previously, laws allowed animal abuse to be covered up and not investigated. The horrible reality of that meant that the abuse would continue. Laws were actually providing cover for these individuals to commit criminal acts.
There was huge push back in Parliament to remove this barrier and, at the very least, allow footage of acts of animal abuse to be handed to the authorities for investigation. It shouldn't have been this hard.
I reminded every MP seeking to block the change in these laws that they were helping to cover up criminal behaviour including r*ping animals and bashing animals to death. There can be no excuse for that – and clearly shows the strength of lobby groups knowingly trying to hide animal abuse common in certain industries.
Those voices lost though, and this significant change was made. In NSW, if you become aware of undercover footage of animal abuse it can now be reported to the police (please note it still can't be handed to the RSPCA or AWL at this stage).
A massive thank you to all the animal groups who helped us lobby on this one, and a special thank you to @farmtr_project."

@susanamet Appeared Arcora fractured his left fore fetlock not far into the race which suggests he was not fit to race or properly vetted considering he had already had 12 starts. He did take the crossing awkwardly but could that have overloaded his left fore and caused a stress fracture?
English

another horse dead in NSW
At Rosehill yesterday, 3 year old Arcora broke down suffering an 'injury" to his near foreleg. He was euthanised.
Rest in Peace Arcora
The “soundest horse you could ever find”, according to the trainer, but still he broke down. Horse racing is not natural, not safe, pain and injuries are common and routine, some catastrophic.

OUR CALL TO END LAMB MUTILATION 🩸✂️
Amanda Dorn MP:
"Last week, I put forward a Motion on Notice in WA Parliament to address one of the most confronting practices still happening to sheep in Australia.
"Every year, millions of lambs have skin and flesh cut from their backsides. It is cruel and barbaric, and unbelievably it's still legal.
"This motion is about pushing for a clear path toward a mulesing-free future in Western Australia. It also recognises that better alternatives already exist, and that the rest of the world is moving on while we lag behind.
"Let’s be honest. This kind of legislative work isn’t flashy... it’s detailed and technical, and sometimes it feels slow.
"But this is how change happens. Line by line. Motion by motion. Putting animal welfare on the record in our state parliament until it can't be ignored.
"I promise to keep you updated on our work towards lessening the suffering of WA lambs."
