I went for my immigration capturing today and from the gate to the final stage, it was anything for us? everywhere. You submit your form, they hint for money. You drop your phone, they hint for money. Even after capturing, someone still expects a tip. Some asked directly ,others wrapped it in smiles and anything for the us? I experienced the same thing while doing my driver’s license too. At this point, these tips no longer feel optional in government offices. They feel built into the system. Have you experienced this before?

@Sandraify6 When i did passport early 2023, I spent more than 200k for family of 4, Including tips. I wonder how much it would cost now

@Sandraify6 Its now a culture in Nigeria. Since the first day I moved abroad, I have never been to any government office. Everything is online or through phone call

Lol my mom is not fat even after birthing 8 kids My aunties are not fat after childbirth My grandma wasn't fat even after giving birth to kids in fact they became slimmer and had to eat a lot in order to gain weight So Anyone who wants to get fat after childbirth will get fat, it's not a normal thing for a woman to get fat after childbirth

@c_naturalman Honestly, I understand why people say that because of experience, but it shouldn’t be normalized. Government services should work without tips being expected just to do the right thing.

@Sandraify6 In as much as you are going to a government establishment for a document, just budget for tips, if you really want to be attended on time

@gifylicious Sometimes it really feels that way, especially with how normal it’s becoming in everyday places.
