At the debate, Bass claimed credit for reducing homelessness by 17%. “Don’t believe your lying eyes!” First, even if accurate, spending $4B on a mere 17% reduction doesn’t cut it. Second, it’s a misleading number that comes from LAHSA - the same organization that can’t account for $2B in homelessness funding - which conducts a “point in time” count that notoriously undercounts the homeless by 30-40%. RAND’s methodology (frequent and targeted) is more accurate and reveals LAHSA’s undercount masks the growth and scope of the problem. For example: ⛺️ Skid “Row” (not a “row,” but a 50-block lawless tent city) has been growing at 3% every year 🏨 Bass’s Inside Safe costs $300+M in 3 years, and 40% end up back on the street and only 25% end up in permanent housing 💉Housing First & Harm Reduction priorities do not require homeless addicts to be clean or sober before qualifying for city services, so taxpayers are just funding their addiction and slow suicide with no assurances our money is spent effectively. Private housing assistance organizations that require sobriety have much higher success rates. Obviously. 🪦Overdose deaths (mainly from fentanyl and meth) are the primary cause of death among the homeless population. Leaving them to die from their addiction on the street - and to commit crimes and terrorize law-abiding citizens while high - is neither compassionate nor civilized. Los Angeles under Karen Bass is dying, literally. The only candidate on the ballot who can resuscitate LA is @spencerpratt

This is Islam….
