Confidence is increasing we'll be dealing with a long duration, high impact winter storm this weekend. The exact evolution of things are TBD. What I mean by that is, some of you could deal with all snow through the weekend while others see a mix of sleet & freezing rain. Where exactly we draw that line is a moving target still this early in the game.
I plan on throwing out a snow map tomorrow. I know that's not particularly helpful today, so I'll offer something to give you a sense of what's on the table. Seen below are Euro ensemble probability for at least 6" & 12" of snow by EOD Monday. If this stays all snow, I could easily see a foot to foot & a half in spots. A sharp north to south gradient in snow totals appears likely as ice eats into snow totals the farther away from the lake you get.
Pick your poison with that as lower totals are great but accomplished at the expense of a layer of ice. There remains a small but non-zero chance enough warm air wins out that plain rain gets involved for a time. Lots of moving parts.
I want to stress the long duration element here. Steady snow Saturday gives way to heavier "stuff" Sunday and lake effect into Monday as much colder air pours into the region. Even in the event mixing occurs, lowering snowfall totals, roads are going to be messy for several days. The rock salt situation makes me nervous as we've seen the last few smaller snows play out with awful road conditions at times. I'm glad it's the weekend versus workweek, but those with somewhere to be this weekend should be paying close attention to the forecast ahead.
A year ago these people helped me build a playlist for my chemo treatments and we ate cupcakes to say goodbye. This week we reunited when they returned to play basketball and I returned to work. I love them all! @StateRdWCSD @WCSDProud
So after 5 calls with 6 representatives, @1800flowers now tells me that my receipt is incorrect- it says I have a subscription but I actually do not. Couldn't tell me that 3 weeks ago when I first called? 10/10 will not recommend
@1800flowers I have been working with your customer service department and "executive number" representatives SINCE FEB 6TH to solve a subscription problem. MIL with dementia has not gotten her flowers this month with no idea when they will be delivered. How is this acceptable?
Huge shout out to the Webster Teachers Association and their President Chris Wojtas for partnering with the AFT and supporting the Webster community with 40k books. Reading Opens the World!! @nysut@MelindaJPerson
Anyone who says radiation is the easy part of breast cancer recovery clearly hasn’t had to expose your battle wounds daily in a room of five techs who take joy in telling you repeatedly to “hold your breath”. Shout out to lovely Nancy who reminded me they are my “survival scars”.
With McQuaid in the books and fresh in my mind, my ogre buddy and I were chatting about the XC seniors from 2019. What a wonderful group:) I hope Mitchell, Noah, Russell, Kaho, who came to McQuaid to say hi!!, Leigha, and Jamie are doing well...and maybe still running???
