Don’t let past failures limit your possibilities as a teacher, leader, or person. Go forward with enthusiasm and imagination and keep taking those positive risks. Keep the adventure and sense of wonder in all you do.

You don’t always have to teach... or lead... or inspire. Sometimes it’s enough to listen... and care... and love.

Kids need to learn to be responsible, to be on time, to follow rules, etc... I get it. But please don’t allow yourself to be consumed with tardies and dress code. These things will always be with you, and there are more meaningful things in the school that deserve your energy.

Teachers give lots of encouragement, and they need encouragement too. 1. You inspire. 2. You make everyone around you better. 3. Your students are lucky to have you. 4. You saved the day with your willingness to help. 5. Your positive attitude is contagious. 6. Thank you!

It’s impossible for kids to have more ownership in learning while having almost no power in learning. Most every teacher wants students to take greater ownership of learning. But are we willing to allow students to make more decisions about their learning? #FutureDriven

I think teachers are at their best when they are transparent with their passion. Love of content, love of learning, and love of kids… is what students find so compelling.

3 Truths About Leadership: 1. Leadership isn’t about gaining power. It’s about empowering others. 2. Great leaders succeed because they bring out the greatness in others. 3. You don’t have to be great to serve but you have to serve to be a great leader.

#ThoughtForTheDay When we fail to acknowledge or dismiss the contributions of others, regardless how big or small, we miss an opportunity to strengthen the core of our community; the value of what people bring to the organization. #Culturize
