God our Father, Maker and lover of peace... give our soldiers strength, courage, and wisdom as they face the challenges of the battlefield. May Your presence be with them always, guiding and shielding them from harm.” #Prayers

Remembering the great Gloria Stavers, an incredible photographer and the former editor of 16 Magazine. She captured us in these photos at a moment in time, images that still hold the spirit, the energy… and, I’ll admit, some pretty good looks.

@thewardoll I remember when I was a kid, I got caught in a pretty bad thunderstorm. I asked, “Are you God?” and right then, a huge clap of thunder boomed before I heard, “I AM.” I shook a little. youtu.be/zYoVT6Mq8Mo?si…

Let me tell you about an experience I had with a "Bluetooth American". I was at a rural beach outside a small town, middle of nowhere type thing where a busy weekend means a couple dozen cars in the lot. It's only the local farm families from around the area that know about this place that's hidden from the big city dwellers, and they're all enjoying the sunshine and hot weather. I'm walking up to the washroom area and the closer I get I start to hear this awful gangster rap music blaring loudly from some ghetto looking speaker, and of course it's the usual suspect. Out of place doesn't begin to describe the darkest Somalian looking man at a rural beach full of the whitest farmer tans and a parking lot full of pickup trucks. Now I'm not going to tell you I experienced a supernatural vision or was taken up in the spirit in some dramatic way, because those of you who know the Holy Spirit's leading will understand the subtle nature of the lessons we are taught in a single moment. In my minds eye I see 2 Samuel chapter 24, where David looks out across Jerusalem during the outbreak of a fierce plague. Having been given eyes to see the supernatural realm, David sees upon a hill overlooking the city, the angel responsible for the plague with outstretched arm towards Jerusalem. David brought the plague on the city himself, having ignited the Lords righteous anger when he decided to number the armies of Israel, an act of reliance upon ones own strength instead of the provision of the Lord. And so David asks for the Lords forgiveness by climbing to the area and offering a sacrifice to the Lord upon the threshing floor which was at the top. The angel's outstretched arm is stayed from the city when the act of rebellion against God is forgiven and the nation turns back to Him. But you see, I'm not talking about ancient Israel anymore. I'm talking about us. Our cities, our nation, our people. Because when I walked past that man who was disrupting the peace at that beach, I saw in my minds eye the angel standing beside him, outstretched arm, and I felt the Holy Spirit impress something upon my heart. "There will be no peace in this land until the nation turns back to me." Christendom has "numbered it's armies" and is suffering the consequences of it's rebellion. It has relied on its own strength and turned its back on God. And now, every third world immigrant that tears at the fabric of social cohesion, every subversive act of your own government, every rainbow flag flying from some "church" steeple, every movement of feminism that pulls apart the family unit, every sensual desire that poisons the hearts of fathers and husbands, every abortion clinic that defies the sensibilities of the compassionate, and every violent act committed in our streets, is much more than simply the consequence of this nations own actions. It is the Angel of the Lord, with arm outstretched against us, declaring that this nation will have no peace until it turns back to God.

@Partisangirl Just hope he’s right about disabling Iran, and that Iran was only doing what the USA does with weapons, acting in self-defense.

Remembering Val Kilmer. I always felt he should have been nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of Jim. Watching him on set gave me the creeps, he was so close to Jim. Actors are mysterious like that; they transform themselves. Val did it beautifully. Photo: Getty Images.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
