Helle is a close friend of mine, and she deserves better than to be publicly misquoted by you. What you call a "global democracy index" is actually the World Press Freedom Index by Reporters Without Borders. Don't you agree there is a big difference? Helle is a brilliant journalist who simply asked a solid question to PM Modi. I do not understand why that makes people so upset, that they start twisting the truth about what happened, but maybe you can explain?

I agree. As I have repeated in several interviews, I asked PM Modi a question from a very privilegied corner of the world. The journalists in India that are still committed to honest and critical reporting are the brave. I am happy that I brought attention to the matter of press freedom. I think now we should all direct our attention towards them.
