For me its bc the ship in the show has an unbalanced power dynamic. Lady literally manipulates and lies to Dante and Dante doesn't hold it against her when he should atleast be bothered by it. In dmc3 Dante atleast calls her out and gets mad at Lady shooting at him

@Manga_Kamen I loved S2 but the lack of Lucia was my biggest disappointment with it. Im sure this article mainly refers to elevating Arius and Argosax into a bit more interesting and threatening characters. Which i would agree with.

@Sansofsparda All I'm saying is that the answer is obvious. Mundus cause his mother's death, Mundus caused his suffering, Mundus groomed him to a willing servant. Mundus gave him those world views. Everything is his fault and I get that he was the only family he had and that's extremely sad

@RealNerored Vergils comments regarding his mother were a direct reflection of his own insecurities and resentment of his own humanity. Drilled in further by Mundus' early influence. Vergils always felt the humanity he inherited from his mother was holding him back. Its nothing new.

@Sansofsparda Dude I watched it all and Vergil was still struggling with handling the truth about his mom. Calling his mother weak and saying that she should have let him fall instead of cradling him. He was agreeing with mundus's methods because it gave him power.

Its because of everything else we know about Vergil that made it feel so much more apparent that he resents his human half and not so much his mother specifically.
