In the #NHMRC report, there is a breakdown of the reported gender of CIAs of Ideas grants Women received a similar % in terms of funded rate, but fewer grants and less $/grant, resulting in ~$45.8m less than men It would be great if the government would be willing to match $

@renaemryan1 @NobelPrize Two great scientists won the Nobel Prize for their achievements not because they are male, female, transgender, gender neutral, non-binary, agender, pangender, genderqueer, two-spirit, third gender, and all, none or a combination of these. Well done Doudna and Chapentier.

The @NobelPrize system is flawed in many ways, but I agree there seems to be a lot more focus on the men who missed out here. Is it only due to the controversy surrounding #CRISPR #CRISPR_Cas9? Or could it also be we struggle to accept women can achieve great things on their own?
