@SapphireSpoonAd Yeah Glitch is gonna be fine 😭 They aren't stupid enough to stake their entire business on this, especially when it was gonna be a much more limited release They might take a little bit of a loss but overall it won't matter in the long term

@ruins_sky @VlareZirclo @AwestruckVox Most "Successful" indie animations from what I've seen end up with a fanbase as big as something like, say... Monkey Wrench. Where the series doesn't quite have the same explosive growth like Glitch shows do, but still have a sizable enough fanbase for the public to see them.

@ruins_sky @VlareZirclo @AwestruckVox Yeah, I'm well aware... Things have kind of always been this way, sadly. The Indie Animation space is still very much a competitive one... And unless you got Glitch backing your project, or are a well-known name... getting that huge fanbase is typically as hard as managing it.

Tbh I think a lot of creators of huge shows feel this way; NDAs and big wigs looming over them just has them staying silent instead of speaking out. Ultimately they just wanna be storytellers, but they’re forced into becoming a public figure, given a high rank they never wanted

No seriously, Gooseworx's last few posts on social media were basically her saying she'd been pulling all nighters trying to make the finale look as perfect as possible, and her hoping people would get what she was going for when it released, just for it to get unceromoniously leaked and a bunch of people saying it either sucked or celebrating its "downfall". Like no wonder she sounds done with all of this, I think almost anyone in this situation would be.

@VlareZirclo @AwestruckVox Tbh, this mostly happens with the MAINSTREAM stuff, like Glitch Productions. Most Indie Projects don't reach that level and notoriety and survive off smaller audiences who are typically more well adjusted individuals.

@SkullDroidz @Slushea Most of the toxic fandom stuff will usually only happens "Mainstream" indie stuff with glitch's name. But a big chunk of successful Indie projects usually end up with a smaller scale audience that end up more reasonable. Keep going forwards, this looks great

@ArtistNcs Gonna be honest, most of thr majorly bad stuff usually happens with MAINSTREAM indie animations. Mainly from Glitch. The smaller end Indie stuff usually has fandoms with more down to earth people. And a lot of indie creators usually end up on ghe latter.

Seeing the stuff that happens to indie scene nowadays because of terminally online fans really discourages me to work on anything for myself and I’m sure it does for other creators too. Like fuck, I’m kinda glad Gamecade isn’t that popular, because why would I want that tension?

@CiblesGD I think the reason they did it is because TADC already had a MASSIVE name to them by that point. Which is more likely to draw in more people... like kids who don't use twitter. Bit of a gambit for Glitch... and they're probably gonna make a million dollars anyways.
