Earlier this year, I commissioned an artist for a personal art piece. According to her own TOS, you can “post it in any social media without promoting your content… make sure to tag me”. I followed those rules. I am NOT monetized on any platform except for twitch. I never used the art except to post and tagged the artist. I was NOT promoting my stream or content in ANY WAY. I kept the watermark on the piece. I was STILL ASKED TO TAKE DOWN THE ART. It is incredibly misleading to put into your terms and services that you can post your content in ANY SOCIAL MEDIA without promoting content. I can see the artist being upset that I didn’t use the @ tag in the original post but I posted this from Buffer and went back tagged in the comments. I see this artist complaining about lack of views or commissions and now I don’t wonder why. I’m struggling financially due to a myriad of health issues so the fact that I didn’t get to use the art I paid for was really sad. disappointing :/
