Great! Ireland remains the only country in Western Europe without universal access to primary care. We are highly unusual among our neighbours in that most citizens pay out of pocket & in full to see a GP & to buy medicines. In a cost-of-living crisis, this warrants more focus.

if you’re under 25 & have the money to get a private smear test GET ONE don’t let any doctor tell you that you don’t need one

the irish health system is a joke i was refused a referral for a smear test for nearly 3 years but i was finally able to get one a few weeks ago (after having to pay over 100€) & they found abnormal cells which i’ll probably have to get removed
