The arrest of lawyer #Abdulmajid_Sabra by the Houthi group constitutes a serious violation of freedom of opinion and expression, and represents another step in the campaign to silence critical voices in #Yemen. #SAM_Organization #sanaa samrl.org/l?e5601

It’s been over a year since my husband, Dr. Ali Ahmad Al-Mudhwahi, was forcibly disappeared in Sana’a, Yemen. Over a year filled with silence, pain, and endless waiting for his release. And every single day, our daughter Youmna asks me the same question: “When will Baba come back?” I share these words hoping they reach those who still believe in justice That someone will help return a father to his child, And free a doctor who devoted his life to serving his country, Only to be met with silence… and leave his daughter carrying the heartbreak. #FreedomForAliAlMudhwahi #WhenWillBabaComeBack @amnesty @hrw

Statement of the Abductees’ Mothers Association in Front of the Attorney General’s Office in Aden, Demanding the Release of Arbitrarily Detained and Forcibly Disappeared Individuals Today, we, the mothers of the abductees and forcibly disappeared, stand in front of the Attorney General’s Office in Aden in a humanitarian demonstration that embodies both pain and appeal. We demand the immediate release of our arbitrarily detained and forcibly disappeared sons, the disclosure of the fate of 62 forcibly disappeared individuals and 15 detainees, and an end to their suffering—and ours as their families—which has persisted for years without any legal justification. As the holy month of Ramadan, a time of mercy and forgiveness, approaches, our suffering deepens, and our anguish multiplies. While families gather around their iftar tables in an atmosphere of warmth and tranquility, we find ourselves deprived of our most basic rights—not even knowing the fate of our loved ones, let alone visiting them or ensuring their well-being. Their prolonged detention and the refusal to release them only add to our pain. The Abductees’ Mothers Association demands the immediate and unconditional release of all arbitrarily detained and forcibly disappeared individuals. We stress the urgent need to reveal the locations of the forcibly disappeared, allow their families to visit them and check on their condition, and put an end to all forms of arbitrary detention and enforced disappearance, which violate both local laws and international human rights conventions. We call for holding accountable those responsible for these violations and ensuring that such practices do not recur, by immediately releasing our sons. We urge all relevant authorities, especially the Attorney General, to take swift action to end this ongoing humanitarian tragedy that has persisted for years without any serious effort to achieve justice for the victims and their families. Additionally, we call on local and international human rights organizations to intensify their efforts in pressuring for justice and an end to this humanitarian crisis. Ramadan is a month of mercy and humanity, yet for years, it has arrived while our sons remain in prisons and secret detention centers, deprived of their freedom and their right to a dignified life.
