#Iran appears to have deliberately targeted at least two civilian ships in/around the Strait of #Hormuz-- apparent war crimes. The attacks may also contribute to significant global cost increases in critical sectors, to the detriment of people’s rights. hrw.org/news/2026/03/2…

New @hrw report finds that the Feb 28 US/Israel attack on a school in southern Iran should be investigated as a war crime. Both militaries tout immense intelligence, and should have been aware they were attacking a school while children present. hrw.org/news/2026/03/0…

The #Houthis have arrested Abdulmajid Sabra, a well-known lawyer in #Yemen. Sabra has been an incredible advocate in many cases that others wouldn't touch out of their fear of the Houthis. His arrest is part of the Houthis' ongoing crackdowns on free speech and on civil society.
SAM Organization for Rights and Liberties@SAM4rights

The arrest of lawyer #Abdulmajid_Sabra by the Houthi group constitutes a serious violation of freedom of opinion and expression, and represents another step in the campaign to silence critical voices in #Yemen. #SAM_Organization #sanaa samrl.org/l?e5601

The #Houthis have detained more #UN staff in #Yemen in the last two days, adding to the dozens of UN and civil society staff that they've arbitrarily detained for over one year now. Houthis continue to up repression + erode rights in territories they control, while hunger grows.

Yet another US strike killed dozens of civilians in #Yemen after hitting a migrant detention center in Saada yesterday. Strikes over the last month have shown a drastic uptick in civilian harm, and a callous disregard for civilian life. More here: hrw.org/news/2025/04/2…

All authorities in #Yemen have arbitrarily detained and disappeared people. While the focus is often on the #Houthis, all parties, including the STC + the Yemeni Govt, should release all those they've arbitrarily detained, including those detained in protests in #Aden last week.
Abductees' Mothers Association@abducteesmother

Statement of the Abductees’ Mothers Association in Front of the Attorney General’s Office in Aden, Demanding the Release of Arbitrarily Detained and Forcibly Disappeared Individuals Today, we, the mothers of the abductees and forcibly disappeared, stand in front of the Attorney General’s Office in Aden in a humanitarian demonstration that embodies both pain and appeal. We demand the immediate release of our arbitrarily detained and forcibly disappeared sons, the disclosure of the fate of 62 forcibly disappeared individuals and 15 detainees, and an end to their suffering—and ours as their families—which has persisted for years without any legal justification. As the holy month of Ramadan, a time of mercy and forgiveness, approaches, our suffering deepens, and our anguish multiplies. While families gather around their iftar tables in an atmosphere of warmth and tranquility, we find ourselves deprived of our most basic rights—not even knowing the fate of our loved ones, let alone visiting them or ensuring their well-being. Their prolonged detention and the refusal to release them only add to our pain. The Abductees’ Mothers Association demands the immediate and unconditional release of all arbitrarily detained and forcibly disappeared individuals. We stress the urgent need to reveal the locations of the forcibly disappeared, allow their families to visit them and check on their condition, and put an end to all forms of arbitrary detention and enforced disappearance, which violate both local laws and international human rights conventions. We call for holding accountable those responsible for these violations and ensuring that such practices do not recur, by immediately releasing our sons. We urge all relevant authorities, especially the Attorney General, to take swift action to end this ongoing humanitarian tragedy that has persisted for years without any serious effort to achieve justice for the victims and their families. Additionally, we call on local and international human rights organizations to intensify their efforts in pressuring for justice and an end to this humanitarian crisis. Ramadan is a month of mercy and humanity, yet for years, it has arrived while our sons remain in prisons and secret detention centers, deprived of their freedom and their right to a dignified life. Issued by the Abductees’ Mothers Association – Aden Thursday, February 27, 2025 #MySonFreedomFirst ama-ye.org/statement-of-t…

The majority of people in #Yemen are reliant upon humanitarian aid to meet basic needs, yet #Houthis detention of #UN, civil society staff have endangered all aid provision. Despite calling for justice for #Palestinians, they don't apply the same rights standards to Yemenis.
