Iowa farmer: We've had this huge jump in fertilizer prices because of this conflict. With 30% of fertilizer coming through the Strait or Hormuz, we've only been in conflict for 12 days here, and our fertilizer costs have jumped 77%.

Tragically, another Iowan, Maj. Jeffrey O'Brien was killed in Kuwait this past Sunday. This heartbreaking news comes as our community is mourning the loss of Sgt. Declan Coady. My prayers are with the family, friends, and comrades of Maj. O'Brien and Sgt. Coady.

Sgt. Coady stepped up to wear the uniform and serve our country. We owe him, every military member, and their families, our gratitude, our respect, and our commitment to treat the decision to send Americans into war with the seriousness it deserves.

I am deeply saddened by the death of Iowan, Sgt. Declan Coady, serving as an Army Reservist, and my heart is with his family, friends, and fellow service members as they grieve this devastating loss.

The Iranian regime is brutal, but that does not justify the president unilaterally dragging us into war. Congress needs to return to vote on the war powers resolution.
