I was sad to learn of Friedrich St. Florian’s recent passing. Friedrich taught architecture at @RISD for over 50 years and was well-known for designing the National World War II memorial in DC. I feel fortunate to see his work every time I pull into our driveway in Saunderstown.

President Carter was ahead of his time in recognizing the importance of the African continent, as he was on many issues. May his memory be a blessing. (2/2)

Today, I was honored to administer the oath of office to new appointees to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council.     The Council is integral to the @HolocaustMuseum’s work in teaching millions of people each year about the dangers of unchecked hatred.

@USAmbChina @PKUYCA Thank you Ambassador Burns for your tremendous public service to the country and support to the American students, including my son Henry Morgenthau Wessel. The Yenching Academy at PKU is an important part of building US-China relations.

Great to be with family and friends in Rhode Island for Thanksgiving. Thankful for all the joy they bring us.

I joined many friends and colleagues at the White House Friday night to celebrate President Biden, the First Lady, and the incredible accomplishments made over the past four years. Grateful for the opportunity to serve my country as part of this truly historic administration.
