@willginn13 @edgeAIapp It may have either stopped or lightened up, though, as tournament staff are now on court pushing water off the tarp covering the court. That's a good sign for play resuming relatively soon unless it starts raining heavily again.

Raining once again in Rome. Play stopped and players are still on court for now. Jannik Sinner vs Daniil Medvedev 6-2, 5-7, 4-2* (40-Adv) Sinner said ‘What if I slip on the line, it’s heavier rain now’ Medvedev was keen on to continue playing.

@RossEleven @andrenino02 @josemorgado @grok Technically the smoke is from the fireworks that went off at the end of the ⚽ game. The smoke slowly made its way from the nearby ⚽ stadium to the Foro Italico, causing ELC to fail and thus delaying play for 19 mins until the smoke cleared sufficiently for it to work again.

@dido404 @InteBNLdItalia It's too late, unfortunately. Only lucky losers could replace players who withdrew after qualies began and the tournament released the main draw. Had Arthur withdrawn before both of those, PCB would've gotten in 1st; Grigor would've needed 1 more withdrawal to enter the MD.

@claudemac24hrs @DrawsTennis Thanks for the info! I know PCB is now the only one ahead of him on the original entry list, but he's now entered in qualifying. Does this mean that Grigor would enter the main draw if 1 more person withdraws before the 1st qualifying match begins, or would PCB get in instead?

@_BrockB @JoePompliano I'm pretty sure they test the horses before and after the race to ensure no cheating or doping occurred. Also, Golden Tempo is apparently the type of horse that prefers running from behind (his KD run is typical of his racing style). He's still the official winner, so he's clean.

Golden Tempo was literally dead last in the final turn and then outkicked everyone to win the Kentucky Derby. What an insane finish.

@WTA @marta_kostyuk Technically it's a back handspring, which is quite different from a backflip. Still, it's a cool, unique way to celebrate this big win!

@kostekcanu It's technically a back handspring. She didn't launch into the air, flip backwards midair, and then land on her feet (which would be a backflip). Instead, she sprang backward onto her hands and then up to her feet (which is a back handspring). Still a cool, unique celebration!

@usopen Technically it's a back handspring. A backflip involves launching into the air, flipping backwards midair, and landing on one's feet. As illustrated in Kostyuk's celebration, a back handspring involves springing backwards onto one's hands and then springing to one's feet.

@vanshv2k Agreed, although technically it was a back handspring, not a backflip. Either way, it's still a cool, unique celebration for winning the tournament!

Marta Kostyuk parle de sa célébration du backflip. Elle avait 15 ans au moment de cette interview. "J'ai fait de la Gym pendant 7 ans et je jouais en même temps au tennis. Quand je gagne un tournoi, je le fais." 📽️ ITF | YT/Tennis366

@UpperDeckCraps @TennisLegende English isn't her first language, so whether she misspoke in English or said it in her native tongue and someone mistranslated it, the distinction could've been lost in translation. Also, at least in this clip, the interviewer—not Kostyuk—was the one who called it a backflip.

@JaySonTafari @TheTennisLetter @lisa_talking Yes, that is 100% a back handspring. In a backflip, she would've spun backwards midair air and landed on her feet, whereas she clearly sprang backwards onto her hands and then sprang to her feet (the definition of a back handspring).

@tmpmom @TheTennisLetter I was going to comment the same thing. I did gymnastics for a few years when I was a kid, and while I can't do either a backflip or a back handspring (but wish I could do both), I *do* know the difference.

@TheTennisLetter I mean, to clarify from a cheerleading mom, it’s a back handspring not a backflip. I know all the other comments want to be political, but I’ll just fact check @TheTennisLetter

A baby elephant named Ellie was discovered alone in the wild in South Africa, having been rejected by his herd due to a severe umbilical abscess and hernia. Ellie remained lethargic and deeply depressed, showing no will to live. Recognizing that elephants are intensely social creatures, the team introduced him to Duma, a retired service and sniffer dog residing at the sanctuary. The effect was instantaneous. As soon as they met at the sand pile, Ellie’s demeanor shifted from despair to curiosity. The two became inseparable, with Duma’s playful energy teaching Ellie how to be a joyful calf again. She finally had a chance to heal and enjoy life. [📹 Earth Touch News] [📍 Thula Thula Rhino Orphanage]

@HukijuHacks @Rainmaker1973 Yes, but those low frequency rumbles are actually infrasound (frequencies under 20 Hz, thus lower than humans can hear) calls that other elephants intentionally emit. Elephants also walk on their tiptoes, and a supportive, shock-absorbing heel pad helps them "hear" these rumbles.

@Rainmaker1973 You know elephants basically have built in subwoofers in their feet. They detect low frequency rumbles from other elephants up to 6 miles away through ground vibrations. They stay connected without yelling across the savanna.
