This is our bookshop, Westwood Books in Sedbergh, Cumbria. It’s a large building, on a main road at the edge of town, that has been a bookshop now for 18 years. But we need your help. Even though the shop has been here for so long, we still get comments like… 🧵

@kurtis_dickson I absolutely relate to this! I remember so well, watching that opening ceremony and then going to London to watch a few events! It was such a time of joy and I felt so proud - no longer 😢

I think about this all the time. I remember watching it in awe. It was a celebration of history and culture, multiculturalism, the NHS. It would be ripped apart today for being "woke". I shudder to think what some on the right today would want an opening ceremony to look like.
