@victoriabwrites Yup. Research writing & CW require permission to have and own ideas. My students were often not comp students, no text told them they have any value as a thinker. So being creative was off the table until they knew to trust their brains. Why I ❤️ CCs.

@victoriabwrites YASS. I used to tell my students that writing— even at a 2-yr college — is participating in the genealogy of thought. Their ideas needed to be in conversation with what came before, but they were unique & mattered. Only way to stomach teaching APA. 😂
