@DocHowe Because it was one season so far and I had to pull out last minute because of the set back to my mental health dealing with a lawsuit and my abuser. Who had no affiliation with Hyles. But that didn’t stop him or the countless spineless “men” trying to cover for him abusing me.

@scottjdotson @NCravatt No one is giddy this is happening. They are giddy that attention is finally being shown to a massive issue within the church. Giddy that women are speaking up. Everyone can have their beliefs. We don’t have to agree on them. But make them safe.

No, I don’t think speaking against abuse is virtue signaling at all. I think seeming excited and happy something like this happening in a group you don’t like is. I’m not accusing anyone I just get the feeling alot of people I’ve seen talk about it feel that way. It’s just one of the emotions I felt.

I am a young preacher who would be considered by many to be part of the “IFB” because of my stance on modesty, music and the kjv, although I have never really had any association or influence with most main stream IFB preachers. After watching the first episode of #letusprey my overwhelming reaction was anger. It made me angry at the abusers - Angry that a man who has the incredible opportunity of impacting a child’s life would take advantage of their innocence in such a wicked way. -Angry that they would have the arrogance to continue in leadership after committing such atrocities. It made me angry at the preachers - Angry that so much is unknown and swept under the rug by the leaders in these situations. - Angry that these men don’t have the backbone to stand up and expose this violence. - Angry a man can be criminally convicted of abuse and go down the road to another place and be given a position of authority as if nothing ever happened. - Angry that, just maybe, if pastors would have stood against this garbage it wouldn’t be left in the hands of Hollywood as ammunition to the cause of Christ! - Angry that these pastors have given satan an opportunity to discredit the Gospel. It made me angry at the producers - Angry that they would use this abuse to broad brush anyone who believes in biblical principles and practices. - Angry that they would tear down the biblical role of a pastor and father - Angry that that they would insinuate if you protect your child from the knowledge of worldly things then you are setting them up to be vulnerable to abuse. - Angry that they would take truth preached by a bad excuse for a preacher and use it to cast doubt on good preachers that preach the same truths - Angry that they would attack the importance of modesty and accountability. It made me angry at the virtue signalers - Angry that there are guys who seem to be giddy that they have a “gotcha moment” for a group they have revolved their ministry around attacking. - Angry at guys who accuse you of being one of “them” if you haven’t made a public statement regarding the documentary, (before a lot of preachers even had a chance to watch it) regardless of the fact you have publicly preached against and denounced this kind of coverup It made me angry at Satan Angry that Satan is so skillful at taking mens failures and using it for destruction in an hundred different directions. I am looking forward to the day when that wicked, destructive, deceiver will be cast into the Lake of fire for eternity. One good impact the episode had on me is, I am resolved more than ever to make sure I never cover, condone, or enable men who commit those atrocities. I want to do my best, by the help of God, to be an example to my generation that you can still strive for biblical holiness without making the mistakes of some of the men before us. I’m not yet ready to throw the baby out with the bath water.
