@CyricZ42 Yea i agree with that which is also kind of why I dislike it when people just say "always play release order or you're doing it wrong". I think new fans can get into a series by starting with the one they have access to or are interested in. I know of ppl who got in with Pirate!

@PlayStaySherwin LAD is a rather unique situation on its own. But in general my opinion on this is that it's impossible to completely recreate *my* experience with a series, so there's no reason for me to demand that of others.

Idk a lot of it comes down to availability. For example, I cant just go out and tell people to play Yakuza (PS2) to start the series with. It's much easier to recommend 0 when it's on sale...and RGG/SEGA has made EVEN THAT harder by delisting 0 and replacing it with Directors Cut

the idea that video games should be played in chronological order instead of release order for the "best experience" is just more proof of ppl prioritizing narrative over gameplay as the real artistry to be respected and sought after.
