Research published by Dr. Matheus Costa and his #WCVM team has identified the cause of pig ear necrosis. The discovery was heartening for Costa who has been exploring this affliction for years.

The Philippines has officially recognized Canada’s ASF zoning system, allowing continued exports of live swine, pork, and by-products. This strengthens access to a key market and reflects the strong biosecurity and traceability practices of Canadian producers.
This decision supports stable trade, market growth, and confidence in the safety and quality of Canadian pork.
The CPC welcomes this milestone and will continue working with partners to uphold world-class animal-health standards.
